Dirt Magic Wet/Dry Auto Vacuum-An Auto Owner’s Best Friend

by tree pony

Decisions! Decisions! I just need a few more inexpensive items to finish off my gifts. I’ve already given them everything they asked for; but now I need that invaluable surprise gift to complete my holiday shopping. Great, what am I supposed to give my co-worker at the gift exchange that’s going to be under $20? Show of hands, how many of you have ever been in this dilemma? I know I have, on more than one occasion.

It just so happens, dear readers, I stumbled across the Dirt Magic wet/dry auto vacuum a while back. I, myself, have two children off in college. I know they spend a lot of time in their cars, especially over the weekends. Then I remembered what those weekends were like, when I was their age. You remember? All your friends packing in the car, heading to the club, and stopping for a little grub at some late night drive-thru. Someone always spilled something, either soda or condiment. You’d get in your car the following day, lo and behold you’d discover that mysterious stain. That would always be the first thing my parents saw when I’d stop by. That simple memory triggered my buyer’s response. I had to get it.

The Dirt Magic wet/dry auto vacuum weighs in at a mere 1.3 pounds. It’s 11-1/4″ x 4-5/8″ x 3-1-8″ and has an 8″ cord with a vehicle power source plug, which runs on 12 volts. It has a clean white body with a transparent blue bubble, so you can see when it needs to be emptied. Then when you need to clean the filter, simply remove the filter and wash it. As soon as it’s dry enough, replace the filter and you’re ready to go again. When you’re finished you can either set it in the back seat or put it in the trunk for future usage.

This particular gadget does a phenomenal job picking up debris and spills, which is why I love these wet/dry auto vacuums. Granted it’s not a powerful vacuum, like you need in the house, but it’s a fabulous small appliance to have in the car. No more spending a quarter every time you need to stop at a car wash or gas station for a quick vacuum. No more wasting gas trying to locate these machine neither.

I’ve seen the Dirt Magic wet/dry auto vacuum ranging in prices, anywhere from $15 to $25. I just happened to have found it for under $10 online. $5.21 to be precise. I, thought, “man, I almost bought this thing the other day for $25.” I still paid a little more than $25, since I got 5. 2 for my kids, one for both of our cars, and one for a co-worker. Talk about overjoyed! Of course, they were all gift boxed too. Awesome! I just had to wrap them up and all was said and done.

I actually use my auto vacuum at least four times a month. Sometimes less, depending on how much time I spend in the car. I’m curious how much everyone else uses it. Can’t say for sure, but I do know it’s a blessing for us Coke and Coffee drinkers. Those two beverages are notorious for their staining capabilities. Nothing better than being able to pull over quick and pop out the little gun to do the big job. I can hear the angels singing now.
