Line them up on your counter, next to your stove. Use small apothecary jars to hold dry herbs and spices. Add a splash of color by using your apothecary jars to hold fresh fruits. A series of three jars can hold different types of citrus fruits; for example, the first one will hold oranges, the second one lemons and the third one can hold limes. For longer lasting effect, you can slice these citrus fruits and dry them before storing them inside the apothecary jars.

Other kitchen items apothecary jars can hold include cookies, sugar, powder cream and coffee. Fill the jars with assorted candies. If you love to bake, apothecary jars can hold flour, cupcake liners, piping tips, cookie cutters and sprinkles.

Display apothecary jars on top of the coffee table, dining table, fireplace mantel or console table to hold assorted decorative items. Change the contents to go with each season. Decorate them with flowers and Easter eggs in the spring. In the summer, add vibrant colored flowers or put pebbles. When fall kicks in, put dried twigs, leaves, corn husks and small assorted gourds. During the winter, create a winter wonderland by placing cut-outs of paper snowflakes or assorted Christmas ornaments. Dried flowers and potpourri will give texture to your overall décor.
