David Good Interview About “Bachelor Pad” “The Bachelorette” and Brad Womack as “The Bachelor”

by tree pony

David Good is the amazing author of “The Man Code” and also the winner of “Bachelor Pad” on ABC with host Chris Harrison. On January 7, 2011, I was given the opportunity to interview this amazing reality TV star. We talked about “Bachelor Pad,” “The Bachelorette,” and even how he thinks Brad Womack is doing on the new season of “The Bachelor.” You can check my page to also read the interview with David about his new book “The Man Code.”

We first met David when he was on “The Bachelorette” with Jillian Harris. David says that he was originally told Melissa Rycroft would be the woman on the show. He was very interested in her and felt an attraction. He then found out two weeks before the show started that it would be Jillian instead. He said that in reality he was not really attracted to Jillian even though she is a great girl.

David says the first week he was there he maybe saw Jillian for 30 minutes. She is on her dates with other people and you spend all of your time with the guys. You have no television, no magazines, and just each other, some alcohol, and time on your hands. He said this makes it where you get very close with the guys on the show. They are still some of his best friends today. He talks to several of them on regular basis such as Robbie D.

He mentioned that on the show “Bachelor Pad” they are not allowed to make you look bad by editing. This has to do with the fact that they are playing for money. He said lawyers spoke to them several times while on set. Natalie Getz did throw him for a loop when they asked her if she wanted to share or keep her share of the money. They were not allowed to look at each other or talk to find out what the other one would decide. She started her speech and he honestly thought no way would she do it to him, but for a minute he thought she might just keep it for herself. He said “his heart just sunk.” Luckily, Natalie was true to her friendship and they shared the $250,000 prize. They are still friends and talk to each but live long distance.

David has made some really good friends from his time on these shows. He still keeps in touch with Wes, Jessie Kovaks, and Ty Brown just to name a few. One of his great memories is when he won “Bachelor Pad” and kissed host Chris Harrison right on the lips. He said Chris had been teasing him about winning the kissing contest so it seemed perfect.

When asked if he would consider being “The Bachelor,” David said that yes he would consider it. He said, “I really think that you can fall in love.” He said ABC hand picks 30 amazing girls that are matched to the guy. They do personality tests to find girls that are right for you. He would be crazy to pass up that opportunity. Let’s just hope ABC gives it to him someday.

David felt that Brad Womack is doing a great job so far on “The Bachelor.” He said he agreed with Brad not choosing someone at the end of the last show. There is no reason to just pick someone if you aren’t falling in love. He thinks Brad made a wonderful choice with giving Ashley S the first impression rose.
