What if you work in a public safety field, but have bad knees and arthritis? Sound familiar? It should, because most people who work in these professions have sustained injuries over the years from sports, physical fitness, and activities on the job. If your boss will not let you wear black tennis shoes, which is a common complaint, consider getting a pair of Danner Striker II boots. They are as comfortable as a pair of sneakers, offer a lot more support, and will keep your feet and ankles secure during strenuous activity. You or the organization you work for is going to have to pay a premium price, but your feet and all of the joints you put pressure on, are well worth the extra amount.
The best compliment I can say about these boots is, “I never take these off at work.” That’s twelve hour shifts, and I used to be a person who would have to take his boots off every couple of hours. The shock absorption from these boots is phenomenal, and that’s even more so if you have flat feet. Your feet just slide into these, and with a bit of wiggle room for your toes, they are great when you are going for long walks. Their tread allows you to be secure on ice, or scaling fences or running across roofs if necessary. Ever since I switched to these, my feet are a swollen mess at the end of every shift.
Support for your ankles is imperative. These boots deliver on this, and wrap all the way up to the top of them. There’s no wiggle room, although you can flex your legs a bit. The tongue sits up from your foot, even with the laces tied secured, and these are of high quality. You will not have to re-lace your boots every six months with these. As for durability, they can take a beating, and have minimal amounts of scuff marks. They are easy to clean, and they do not need to be shined on as regular a basis as other footwear. You will save money with the shoe polish, and your overall appearance will be professional.
The places to order these are public safety publications and stores. They are easy to find, and generally around $140. These are double the price for boots of the same size, but the comfort and quality make up for the price difference. You will get a long length of service from these, and some of my coworkers that have over thirty years of street experience, swear by these. I do now as well, and will not ever consider another work boot for getting the job done. These get my full recommendation, and have made a man, forget about the pain and focus on his career.
