While going through the various news clips yesterday I found an article on yahoo news that spoke about how the everyday consumer goods that we all enjoy are getting ready to go up in price. Every thing from your clothing to the coffee that you are drinking in the morning is getting ready to jump in price.
The reasons given for consumer goods costing more is because of the cold winter that hit the United States and world demand. And as we have all seen at the gas pumps lately the rising cost of gasoline.
There is not a lot that we can do about the rising cost of gasoline but there are some things that we can do about other consumer goods going up, but we have to act quickly or else it will be to late. Let us discuss some ways to save your self some money and hopefully weather this consumer goods crunch that is getting ready to hit us.
Clothing is one of the consumer goods that you have to have, and at this point they have not said how long consumer goods would be high priced. One thing that you can do to save money is to buy ahead of time. For example I know that I will need a new jacket for next winter and jackets are on sale right now, the logical choice is to buy a jacket now so that I will have it for next winter. I also know that I can save money on consumer goods if I buy the rest of my clothing now instead of later. Shopping at goodwill stores is another way to save money on consumer goods, they have clothing and household items in their stores, do not think that just because it is second hand it is garbage, the consumer goods that they see are usually quality merchandise.
Another thought about saving on consumer good is learning to make your own things. Material is cheaper than the finished product and you will find that it will probably last longer as well.
Food and Coffee:
Food and coffee are also consumer goods that are supposed to rise in price; the only way to save money on these items is to develop a stockpiling mentality. Stockpiling consumer goods makes you less dependent on the grocery store for your food and other consumer goods. If you are going to stockpile consumer goods you may have to change your taste a lot, since some foods stockpile better than others. It may also be necessary to do with out certain consumer goods, I love my coffee but I am only willing to pay so much for it.
If you stock up on consumer goods during the good times you will be less of a slave to the world economy during the bad times. It is time that the consumer dictates the prices instead of the other way around.
