Adults and children of all ages will enjoy the many Christmas events in Atlanta. Many of them, such as the Pink Pig, have become holiday traditions, and this year it will even be “snowing” in one Atlanta location!
Christmas Events in Atlanta – Holiday Productions
The Center for Puppetry Arts, located at 1404 Spring Street in Atlanta, will be presenting an adaptation of Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer. This holiday puppet show presentation begins on November 18 and runs through January 2. Click here for schedule and ticket information.
The Fox Theater, at 660 Peachtree Street in Atlanta, will be offering the Atlanta Ballet’s presentation of The Nutcracker. This holiday classic is one of the most popular Christmas events in Atlanta. The Alliance Theater, located at 1280 Peachtree Street in Atlanta, will be presenting A Christmas Carol. The traditional holiday play by Charles Dickens will open on November 26 and run until December 24. The Alliance Theater will also be offering The Second City: Miracle on 1280 Peachtree Street, a holiday comedy from November 5 to December 12. For ticket information regarding both plays, click here.
Christmas Events in Atlanta – Holiday Displays and Other Attractions
Fernbank Museum of Natural History, located at 767 Clifton Road in Atlanta, will be displaying their Winter Wonderland exhibition from November 17 to January 5. Winter Wonderland includes over twenty beautifully decorated Christmas trees featuring holidays around the world. Click here for ticket information.
Centennial Olympic Park, on Centennial Olympic Park Drive in Atlanta, will be presenting their annual holiday display, Holiday in Lights. The 21 acre park, open from 7 am to 11 pm daily, will be decorated with thousands of holiday lights and ornaments. Harmony Grove United Methodist Church, located at 50 Harmony Grove Road in Lilburn Georgia, right outside of Atlanta, will be offering a live, drive-through nativity scene. The drive also includes several other live scenes depicting Bible stories, such as Mary listening to Elizabeth’s message, the traveling wise men and others, culminating with the live nativity scene. Macy’s at Lenox Square Mall, located at 3399 Peachtree Road in Atlanta, will be offering their holiday tradition, the Pink Pig from October 30 to January 2. This annual holiday train ride features a ride through a life-sized holiday storybook. All proceeds from the Pink Pig will go to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Atlantic Station, on 17th Street in Atlanta, will be staging a realistic snowfall from November 20 to December 31. The nightly “snowfall”, called “It’s Snowing in Atlantic Station”, will be held in the Central Park area of Atlantic Station near their huge Christmas tree. Presented by CBS Atlanta, this is one of the most unique Christmas events in Atlanta and is free to the public. Click here for information.
