Chicago Weather 10 Day Forecast Signals Historic Blizzard

by tree pony

The Chicago weather 10 day forecast looks very ominous. Yet a bad Chicago weather 10 day forecast is fairly normal, since cold conditions are expected this time of year. But the next few days could be rather historic, as the Windy City is about to become the snowy city. Blizzards have been common in the Northeast and parts of the Midwest all winter, yet a building storm front could be the biggest yet in some areas. This makes the Chicago weather 10 day forecast all the more important, since the city could be among the hardest hit in this blizzard.

The warning signs are already building in the Rockies, Plains and Midwest. Cold air, freezing rain and snow is building up from the Rockies, with the front inching closer to the Midwest. By Tuesday night, the worst will have arrived, and the record books could be threatened.

According to the Chicago weather 10 day forecast from the Chicago Weather Center, snow is set to fall starting today. However, only light snow is on tap for today and much of tomorrow, before the blizzard fully arrives on Tuesday night. By Groundhog Day, a “major winter storm” will have hit the city, which may be among the biggest they’ve ever seen.

The town got hit with a record 23 inches in late January 1967. Early projections have at least 20 inches falling over the next few days, if not more. According to CNN, the National Weather Service says at least 18 inches will fall through much of Northern Illinois, and northwest Indiana.

While the Chicago weather 10 day forecast doesn’t say just how much snow will fall yet, it stands to be quite enough. Residents still have more than 24 hours to get ready, before they are snowed in on Tuesday night and Wednesday. Even when the blizzard stops, temperatures will go down, as the low on Wednesday may be somewhere around zero degrees.

Once the storm front leaves the Midwest and comes to the Northeast, things should get calmer. Although temperatures are projected to be in the teens on Thursday, the blizzard will be over, and the latest round of shoveling can begin.

By the end of the Chicago weather 10 day forecast, snow could come down again starting next week. At this point, however, it doesn’t look to be as bad as what’s coming tomorrow night.

The Northeast is already used to events like this, and the region stands to experience it again shortly. But to start off, the Midwest will be the center of a major storm this time, like they haven’t seen in several years.

The first few days of the current Chicago weather 10 day forecast will be much worse than the last few. It is only a question of how bad they’ll get, and whether they’ll bring close to two feet of snow to the Windy City.
