The Charlie Sheen Alex Jones partnership has made headlines before. An earlier Charlie Sheen Alex Jones interview had the actor join the list of 9/11 conspiracy theories. For all of the troubled star’s headlines about drugs and women, he is radical in his politics as well. As such, he is always a welcome guest on one of the most radical radio shows on the air. But the latest Charlie Sheen Alex Jones discussion has gotten into the mainstream this time.
The Two and a Half Men star finally crossed the line with CBS and Chuck Lorre yesterday, in his latest radio interview. However, there was no reason for him to censor himself, since he was on friendly turf, and on a show that regularly goes outside the box.
This wasn’t the first Charlie Sheen Alex Jones interview, as he has shared his thoughts with the controversial host several times. Jones has a history of making radical charges against the government, and is one of the leading “9/11 truthers” who believe the government had something to do with the attacks .
This talk had nothing to do with politics, however, although it boosted the show’s profile more than any conspiracy theory. But much of the focus has been on the actual rant, and not on the forum he delivered it in.
Still, the Charlie Sheen Alex Jones headlines should boost the host’s profile in the mainstream. Of course, Jones would likely be the first to point out that the mainstream media won’t bring up his main theories. Even though he is attached to a major celebrity breakdown, it might not be enough to get his “New World Order” and 9/11 theories in the regular press.
But he usually finds a way to spread his beliefs on his own, without the media’s help. He regularly has followers put certain terms on top of Internet trend searches, if only for a few hours. Yet even though he is one of the most iconic ‘fringe’ leaders, he is still on the fringe, nonetheless.
The Charlie Sheen Alex Jones interview might be credited for bringing the nation’s top rated sitcom down. Yet the host is out to take much more than that down, and yesterday’s talk was merely a break from that mission. A few people might be aware of that mission now, thanks to recent events, although it is still the smaller story in this scandal.
This can give him fodder to bash the media again, in that they’re more eager to talk about a celebrity breakdown than the government’s crimes. In that respect, the Charlie Sheen Alex Jones story may be ideal for him, although it is different from his usual subject matter.
