We recently were able to take the vacation of a lifetime. If you have read any of my other articles, you know we went on a Carnival Cruise aboard the Carnival Conquest out of Galveston, Texas. This is a review of the cruise and all the things there is to do on board.
The first thing we did was line up to get on the boat. We were so excited that we did not realize we were in the wrong line. We stood in a long line and then had to go another place to drop off our bags. This area should be marked better so that people know where to take luggage, but it was not a huge problem. The act of getting on the boat takes forever so make sure you show up early. We were in line after line for over an hour before we finally showed them our passports and were able to get on the ship.
Once we boarded the ship, we were able to eat and go to our rooms right away. When we were in our room, we found the first Carnival fun times paper. This explains all of the different things going on during your trip. We also found our first towel animal on our bed. They were adorable! We then went to eat some lunch at the buffet and get a great view as we left our port.
The next thing we had to do was stand in a safety briefing. It was pretty simple and they just explained what to do in case of emergency. Luckily we never had one, but we knew what to do just in case.
We had two days at sea before we landed at our first port in Montego Bay, Jamaica. On the days at sea, they have several activities planned all day long or you can simply just relax. We were able to enjoy a magic show, comedians, games, trivia, and more on the ship. There was always something going on if you were bored. You could even stay on the ship at ports if you did not want to leave and do other activities.
There is an adult friendly pool and hot tub, plus some for the kids as well. They had a huge big screen television outside where they played different movies at night. You would also find live music going on all over the ship. Don’t miss out on the bingo and your chance to win great prizes! We actually won a prize that paid for everything we had charged so far which was around $700. It does cost to play, but it is fun and worth it.
We spent one day in Montego Bay, Jamaica, another day in Grand Cayman Islands, and the last day in Cozumel, Mexico. Getting on and off the ship here was pretty simple. You just had to show them your card and let them check your bags. We then had one more day at sea at the end of the cruise.
We loved every minute of our trip and plan to take another one in the future. A cruise is a great way to see several different places all in one vacation. There were a lot of kid friendly activities on board, so our little ones will probably get to go along next time. The food is amazing and all included in the cost of your trip. We had a balcony room with a great view. This is an experience you do not want to miss out on if ever given the opportunity to go.
