Body and Brain Connection for the Xbox 360 Kinect is the latest example of how diversified games on the Kinect can be. Body and Brain Connection, is comprised of various and numerous mini-games that rely on you to make some kind of computation in your head and then move your body accordingly to select the correct answer on the screen before time runs out.
The mini-games have three different difficulty settings and are all different enough to keep you engaged and keep the challenges tough, fun and new. I personally enjoy this type of game and find the process of taking 10-15 minutes a day to test different areas of my brain and reflexes enjoyable and kind of addicting.
The controls respond very well once you learn where to place your hands for each challenge. The graphics and sounds are pretty basic but that’s not the point of this game. When you start the game for the first time you’ll take a test to measure how old your brain is, this is done by responding to questions and problems with three mini-games designed to test different areas of your brain.
Once you complete the challenges your brain’s age score will display on the screen, which the game keeps track of along with other stats, so you can measure your progress or lack there of over months or years. After a week of playing the game my brain’s age is a few years younger than my actual age. I’m not sure how accurate this game is at measuring the age of your brain, but I did test my self one night while inebriated and my brain scored about 14 years older than usual, and thus the Body and Brain Connection drinking game was born.
The best part of the game is playing in groups especially while enjoying cocktails for those old enough to drink, but this is where the game’s biggest failures are since there is no online mode to challenge minds far and wide.
The mini-games are also a bit challenging for younger kids, I can’t imagine any child under the age of 8 would be able to play this game and enjoy themselves, so don’t buy this game if you are looking for a fun Kinect game for your 5 year old.
Overall I would purchase Body and Brain Connection for the Kinect if you like brain games, or enjoy having fun interactive party games to play in your home or dorm.
I give Body and Brain Connection for the Xbox 360 Kinect a 4.15 / 5.
