Hooray! It’s not only Wednesday, it’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Eve! I wasn’t too sure at the beginning whether I’d like this show or not, but it quickly became my favorite RH franchise.
Week before last, everyone’s favorite villain, Camille Grammar (married to some famous guy who’s name I keep forgetting) was turning an innocent comment into the Outrage of the Century & getting the bum’s rush out of hubby’s dressing room, while everyone else painted smiles on their faces & tried to make the best of it. Kim got lost in the bathroom, apparently (seriously, editors, quit picking on her. She’s off her rocker, but she’s not mean either.) & then asked the other ladies to set her up on blind dates. Lisa said she had someone perfect in mind for her, but he was still behind bars. You know, I really, really, REALLY like Lisa, so I hope she was kidding about setting up a friend with a jailbird. Taylor, a.k.a. Joker with an Overbite, snarked that she wouldn’t set up Kim with any of her friends. Oh, that’s okay, dear. I have a feeling you’re going to find yourself back on the market soon, so good idea keeping all those opportunities to yourself.
Camille was apparently “too exhausted” to do much filming for this episode, so all she did this time was gush about her husband (David Hyde Pierce?) getting nominated for a Tony & try to take all the credit for it. And we got to see her try on all kinds of pretty dresses to wear at the event.
Taylor hounded a doctor into saying her daughter is allergic to dogs in an apparently failed-effort to get rid of Snowball, while Adrienne got a pure-bred German Shepherd for her birthday from Paul.
The rest of the show focused on Kim’s first blind date with one of Lisa’s friends, who is obviously not a jailbird. He is, however, some guy who likes tall brunettes with no children. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out this will not end well. Martin does seem like a nice guy, & Lisa seems very sincere, but her matchmaking skills were really off the mark.
Kyle decides to help fix her sister up by taking her to get a killer facial. And by killer, I mean “potentially fatal,” since live electric currents were put on her face. Again, no need to be a rocket scientist to figure out that water + electric current = quite possibly the last stupid thing you’ll ever do. Don’t get me wrong-I’m all in to froo-froo facials & pampering, but if someone one comes at me with what looks like a car battery charger, I’m outta there.
The blind date apparently will take place at a gathering at some guy’s over-the-top, ostentatious house that has 17 bathrooms for what appears to be only 2 people. The grounds, however, are quite lovely. Unfortunately for the potential lovebirds, everyone decides to treat them as the evening’s entertainment, instead of letting them get to know each other in less public surroundings. Yeah, I’m sure the fact that the cameras were following them everywhere they went, plus all the folks taking pictures of them with their cell phones added no pressure at all to Kim’s & Martin’s experience. It was never fully explained why Kim disappeared for so long, only to appear arm-in-arm with someone who was not her date. Perhaps she got lost looking for one of the 17 bathrooms? At least she & Martin did their best to get to know each other & find some humor in the situation, before driving off together.
The other highlight of the dinner was Lisa’s practical joke on Cedric about the spa in the basement & then taking everyone else down there to make fun of him as he gets out of the pool in his Superman underpants. Perhaps it’s her way of telling him to stop free-loading on her & get on with his life. I dunno.
Since this episode was very light on the drama, I have a feeling that tomorrow’s episode will be crammed to the gills with it. At least I hope so. Will Kim find true love & happiness with Martin? Will Cedric ever move out of Lisa’s house? Will Taylor stop wasting money on plastic surgery & get her overbite fixed? Will Camille blame Kyle for screwing up What’s-his-name’s chance at a Tony? Tune in to Bravo tomorrow night & find out!
