Bistro MD Review: Chicken Marsala with Brussel Sprouts

by tree pony

The Bistro MD Chicken Marsala with Brussel Sprouts meal was the perfect marriage between health and taste.

I loved the chicken which was topped with shallots, mushrooms and a creamy, sweet marsala wine demi-glace.

Although I don’t have brussel sprouts very often, I was excited by these sprouts topped with a bit of nitrate-free bacon. The dish was also served with sweet potato puree that paired perfectly with the sweet marsala sauce and chicken.

The meal was completely different than the Bistro MD chicken marsala with risotto dinner, although both were delicious.

Bistro MD Doctor Designed Gourmet Meals are more filling that the typical frozen diet meals such as Lean Cuisine or Weight Watchers.

After trying several of the Bistro MD meals, I’ve only been disappointed by the store-bought diet meals. I tried Jenny Craig to lose pregnancy weight, and although their meals are tasty, the Jenny Craig meals tend to be higher in carbs and sugar.

I baked my meal as opposed to microwaving it. I found it best to bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees in a glass dish.

The brussel sprouts were tender. The bacon gave it a nice salty flavor. The sweet potatoes were heavenly. I added my own sprinkle of cinnamon.

The Bistro MD Chicken Marsala with Brussel Sprouts was high in protein and fiber.
