Just about everyone we know today owns a cell phone. There are 8 year-olds running around with cell phones these days, but most of those 8 year-olds have better cell phone habits than their parents. I’ve listed seven of the most annoying cell phone habits that I’d love to see people stop doing. It’s time to stop the cell phone rudeness, people. Cell phone addicts are driving the rest of us nuts!
Talking in Restaurants and Movies-Annoying
I’m sure your conversation about your sisters new boyfriend is really important, but if you are in a place where silence is golden, have the conversation later. There is nothing more annoying than the person who answers their cell phone during a movie, or yaps on it all the way through the previews. A close second in the rude factor are those who actually make or take phone calls in restaurants. Are you kidding me? If you just have to take the call, step outside and take it.
Talking on the Cell Phone in the Bathroom-I mean, really?-Annoying
How many of you have stood in the public bathroom line with someone talking on their cell phone? These people will literally be sitting in the bathroom stall, doing their business, while doing their business! It’s annoying, and kind of gross. Wait until you are done in the bathroom before you have a conversation. If you are at home on your phone, at least give the other caller a chance to opt out of the conversation by letting them know you have to go to the bathroom. Please.
Texting While Talking Face to Face With Friends-Annoying
I’ve been guilty of this, but then I realized how much it bothered me when others did it to me. If you are face to face with a friend or really any other person you are engaging in conversation with, don’t sit there texting or scanning the internet from your cell phone. It’s annoying, it’s rude and it says, “I really wish I was somewhere else.” Give your friend the benefit of your full attention.
Answering A Call When You Are Having a Conversation-Annoying
Just hit the ignore button, not that difficult. If you know it’s a really important call, at least let the other person know so they aren’t standing there feeling ignored or staying on the other line waiting for you to continue your convo with them. Most of the time, your voice mail is your best buddy, you have it so use it.
Talking Loudly Enough for Everyone to Hear You-Annoying
You and your conversation are not that important to the rest of the world. Your voice is probably louder than you think, so maybe you don’t realize you are yelling out your conversation to the rest of us. Maybe you just want to feel important by sharing your business plan or other great deed by talking on the cell phone in public? When I’m waiting at the car wash or nail salon, I don’t need to know about your children’s potty habits, your husbands cheating, your girlfriends nagging or anything else about you; at least not via your cell phone conversation. Go outside to have your annoying chat, and even then, lower your voice, please. Whatever you do, do not use your speaker phone in public!
Talking or Texting on the Cell Phone While Driving-Annoying
Put your cell phone down and drive! This annoying and dangerous act makes me want to rip the cell phone out of the drivers hand and throw it under a bus. Concentrate on your driving, your life and mine depend on it. You think you are a good talker or texter, but I’m the one driving behind you and watching you speed up, slow down, swerve and be so into your cell phone that you have practically forgotten that you are actually driving a vehicle.
Bragging About Your Smart Phone-Annoying
I’m sure your phone is really intelligent; it has apps and maps and music and the internet and games and it can tell you everything you want to know. I don’t care. Unless someone specifically asks you about your cell phone and it’s features, don’t spew it out. I’m happy that you love your phone, but your incessant bragging is just downright annoying.
