I continue to be amazed at the things people do in this country to make life better for others. Rosiland Brown is one such person. She is the founder of the Brighter Day Ministry for single mothers.
Ms. Brown has recently received the honor of being named Raytown Woman of the Year. It is given by Raytown Women of Today.
Criteria is based on an individual woman who is active in the community and works or volunteers for the improvement in the Raytown vicinity. She is a member of the Southview Baptist Church. Ms. Brown published A Study Guide for Single Moms.
According to the newspaper article, “Her volunteer efforts go far beyond the ministry she created into the hearts of women who so desperately need to be loved. She continues to work with women to teach them to love God, themselves and their children”.
As a result of this impressive feat, her name has been submitted to the state competition. That winner will be announced on April 30 at the Women of Today State Convention in Farmington, MO.
While it would be nice for her to win the overall competition, she is already a winner to so many.
Rosiland Brown, you are being honored as Today’s American Shero. Bravo to you for looking out for the all-too-often overlooked segment of society.
May you continue to shine forth your light while being a beacon of hope at the Brighter Day Ministry for single moms and to many others.
