It’s that time of the year again, time for the Academy of Country Music Awards. The 46th annual ACM Awards will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sun. April 3rd, 2011 8 p.m. ET. CBS will be airing the show live as Blake Shelton and Reba host the show. Viewers can vote online for Entertainer of the Year, Top New Solo Vocalist, Top New Vocal Duo or Group and Top New Artist, which will be announced live during the show.
Most Nominated at ACM Awards 2011
Miranda Lambert takes top honors as the most nominated artist at the 2011 ACM Awards with seven nominations, including Entertainer of the Year and Top Female Vocalist, which Lambert won in 2010. Both Kenny Chesney and The Zac Brown Band are up for five awards, competing against each other for Album of the Year.
Taylor Swift, with three nominations, will try to oust Miranda Lambert from Top Female Vocalist, while Keith Urban, also with three nominations, is looking to capture the coveted Entertainer of the Year.
CBS tweeted that Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban will be among the performers for the 2011 ACM Awards.
About the Academy of Country Music
The ACM began hosting award shows in 1966 to honor extraordinary achievement in country and western music. The first broadcast of the award show began in 1972 on ABC and has since grown in popularity and categories. In 2004, the ACM formed the Academy of Country Music Charitable Fund which has raised millions for charities. Viewers increased 26% in 2008 and is now becoming one of the most talked about award shows of the year.
