I love tomato soup and when I came across a container of Healthy Choice Tomato Basil Soup in the soup section of my favorite local grocery store, I was delighted. I decided to buy it, try it out and write a product review all about my experience with it. Here is what I discovered!
One container of Healthy Choice Tomato Basil Soup costs around two dollars. Each container has two servings in it. This soup is advertised as being heart healthy and that fact really appealed to me. It is also low cal, very low fat, low in cholesterol, low in sodium and fiber rich. I am a big fan of many Healthy Choice brand food products. I could not wait to taste this one!
I discovered that this tomato basil soup equals only 2 weight watchers points per serving, according to Con Agra foods. Fantastic. This soup is indeed a dieter’s friend. It comes in a microwave friendly container with a plastic lid. This soup is perfect for microwave cooking and that is how I chose to heat it up. I only had to remove the easy to open metal lid, replace the plastic lid cover, heat on high for a few minutes and let stand in my microwave for a minute. I then stirred and served. This soup looked great and smelled terrific!
When I tasted Healthy Choice Tomato Basil Soup, I loved it! It is rich and creamy. It has lots of basil flavor, along with great celery, onion and carrot taste. The veggie flavor is superb. I really loved this soup. I added saltine crackers to it and made a great lunch out of it. I did eat the entire bowl in one meal. That is considered two servings. I was hungry and this soup is filling and quite satisfying. Do be careful while eating this soup. I found a strange and large seed of some sort in it. It was quite hard and I am glad that I noticed it before swallowing it. It was not listed in the ingredients so, I don’t think it was supposed to be there. It looked like a gigantic sunflower seed. Anyway, other than that, this soup was perfect.
One serving has 130 calories. Just 5 of those calories are from fat. Wow! One serving of this soup has 0.5 grams of total fat, 0 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 5 mg’s of cholesterol, 470 mg’s of sodium, 28 grams of total carbs, 3 grams of dietary fiber, 12 grams of sugars and 4 grams of protein. A nice amount of vitamin A is in this soup.
I loved trying Healthy Choice Tomato Basil Soup and writing this product review about it. It is delicious, different, low cal and heart healthy. Quite a nice combination for a dieter who loves tomato soup. This soup is a winner. It has a gourmet flavor and is so low in fat. Gotta love that!
