I love many brands and types of chicken noodle soup. When I came across a can of Hanover Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup in the canned soup section of my local Dollar tree store, I was intrigued. I decided to purchase this soup, try it out and write a product review all about my experience with it. Here is what I discovered!
I purchased one can of Hanover Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup for only one dollar. That is a very food budget friendly price. I had recently tried another of Hanover’s soups, chunky beef veggie, and I was quite impressed with it. I hoped that the chunky chicken noodle soup would be as good. This soup has chicken broth, spiral shaped egg noodles, chicken meat, carrots and celery in it, among other ingredients. This soup has only 100 calories per serving. Not bad! It is also very low in fat and cholesterol. I could not wait to taste it.
This soup is perfect for microwave cooking and that is how I decided to cook it. I poured the contents into a large microwave safe bowl, covered and heated on high for a few minutes. I then stirred well and served. You do not have to add any water. This soup looked interesting and smelled good. When I tasted Hanover Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup, I liked it. It tastes decent but, it could use a lot more flavor, in my opinion. This soup is not as chunky as I had hoped that it would be. The spiral pasta noodles are a bit cut up and the carrots are not very big. A tiny amount of celery could be found. A few chunks of chicken here and there. I immediately added some saltine crackers to this soup and it did make it much better.
Served plain, you may be a bit disappointed with this soup. I was. It does not live up to it’s chunky name. Still, it is very low in price. I rate Hanover Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup two and one half stars out of five stars. I probably will not buy it again. One serving has 100 calories. 30 of those calories come from fat. One serving has 3.5 grams of total fat, 1 gram of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 5 mg’s of cholesterol, 910 mg’s of sodium, iyiyi, 11 grams of total carbs, less than 1 gram of dietary fiber, 1 gram of sugars and 5 grams of protein. This soup does have some vitamin A in it. This product contains eggs and wheat. The sodium content is rather high so, be aware.
I had fun trying Hanover Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup and writing this product review about it. While it did not live up to my standards, it did save me some money. Other Hanover soups are much better than this one. For more information, you can visit the hanoverfoods.com website.
