Child abuse is frequently committed by older siblings or adults without much consequences in life. Child abuse happens today because people fail them when they decide to look the other way and not get involved to stop it. Here are five ways on how to prevent child abuse.
Don’t Let Anyone Harshly Spank Your Child
When someone spanks the child to the point of leaving bruises on their bum then it is child abuse. You can help prevent child abuse by teaching them better methods of discipline unless you know for sure that the person is outright cruel. If the person is a cruel abuser then report it and have them arrested. It is easy to have a person arrested for spanking that abused your child since he or she will most likely admit it since they don’t believe it is abuse since they will claim it was just discipline due to their warped method of thinking despite bruises left by belts, etc.
Don’t Believe Accidents About Frequent Bruises
Don’t believe accidents about frequent bruises that you see on your child. The way to prevent child abuse is to ask your child when you two are alone if that is what really happened to them. Ask them if the person that you suspect threatened them in anyway possible. Make the abuser believe that you believe what he or she says so therefore you’ll have a better chance of getting the truth out of the child when you are alone since he or she won’t think you question it.
Install Video Cameras to Catch Abuse
You know it is time to leave the situation when your afraid to go to the emergency room because you are afraid of what the doctor will think. You might want to put up video cameras around your house discreetly without telling anyone in the family whatsoever. The video cameras will tell the truth even if the child is afraid to tell you.
Don’t Overlook Stepparents
I don’t care how much he or she claims to love your children please do not overlook stepparents. Stepparents are the one right under your nose most of the time that abuse the children without you ever knowing. Stepparents are good at getting away with abuse against children since they have the upper hand since he or she has you on their side in most discipline situations. Your child might even think that you approve of the abuse unless you educate them that abuse is not okay.
Don’t Trust New People In Your Life With Your Children
You have no idea the way that new people in your life will treat your children. You don’t know everything about the individual. Some people pretend to love children when they really hate children. Some abusers are able to put on such a good enough act til that wedding ring and say yes to getting married to you. Criminal backgrounds check only inform you of any prior abuse that people have got caught doing towards others. You are being smart when you talk to their ex or people in the family before you marry the person.
Run away if the person threatens you to not ever talk to their family, former girlfriends, and spouses in their past.
