Thousands of persons visit Miami in winter, looking for the warm weather of South Florida. These Holidays the city offers many attractions to the visitors, and most of them are addressed to the whole family. If you are in Florida in December, there are five events you won’t like to miss:
Lights at the Zoo
From December 17th to 30th, Miami Zoo welcomes visitors with dozens of bright, animal-shaped lights. If you bring the kids on December 23rd, they can meet Santa and enjoy a dinner with him before he goes back to North Pole. Rides and Attractions at Santa’s Enchanted Forest
One of the most visited events of the year in South Florida, Santa’s Enchanted Forest offers a variety of Carnival Rides that are free with paid admission. Photos with Santa, Face Painting, Pony Rides, and Climbing Wall are some of the favorite attractions. Among the Carnival Rides are Racing Cars, Windstorm Rollercoaster, Flying Planes, Orbiter, and Starship 3000. Location: Tropical Park, 7900 S.W. 40th Street.
Winter Wonder Island
Parrots are not the main attraction of Parrot Jungle this season. HumAnimals, an interactive cirque production, steals the show in December. A troupe of talented artists bring to life lemurs, penguins, orangutans, and even a gibbon, combining stilt walkers, dancers, contortionists, and acrobatic performances. Miccosukee Indian Arts Festival
Native Americans from all over the country meet at the Miccosukkee Indian Village, in South Florida, for this amazing event. Visitors will be able to enjoy arts, crafts, music, dance, and native foods from Sunday, December 26th, 2010 to Monday, January 3rd, 2011. Location:

New Year’s Eve at Bayfront Park
Say goodbye to 2010 and welcome 2011 in a disco party at Bayfront Park, and count down to midnight with Miami’s Big Orange. The New Year’s Icon will slowly ascent the side of the Hotel Intercontinental, reaching the top at midnight. You won’t forget the display of fireworks and being part of the largest free party in South Florida. Location: Bayfront Park, 301 North Biscayne Boulevard, Miami.
