Looking for summer sports camps in Texas? Does your child, pre-teen or teenager want to go to basketball camp? Below are a few excellent camps in Texas.
LCU Chaps Basketball Camps
If you live near the Lubbock area, or even if you don’t, one great camp is offered through Lubbock Christian University. Campers from all over Texas, New Mexico and other states meet to improve their skills and have fun. They offer overnight camps for older kids and teens, and day basketball camps for younger children. The sessions are taught by members of the Lubbock Christian University basketball team, along with coaches.

ACU Basketball Camps
Another great camp is offered every summer on the campus of Abilene Christian University. They have a half-day basketball camp for younger children (one for boys and one for girls) and overnight camps for older students. They also provide Camp Wildcat, which is an overnight camp that teaches several sports including football, soccer, baseball and bowling. For compete details, visit the ACU sports website here.
Aggie Basketball Camps
A third option is offered at Texas A&M University in College Station. They currently have basketball camps for 5th graders and up. For girl’s basketball camps please read this information here. Texas Tech Basketball Camps
Your child can build skills with Red Raiders at one of the basketball camps offered at Texas Tech University. TTU is located in Lubbock. They have separate boy’s and girl’s camps, along with golf, football, tennis and other camps. They even have a camp for Track and Field and Cross Country. Texas Longhorns Basketball Camp
A fifth choice is offered at the University of Texas They have numerous camps for boys and girls, including day camps. For boy’s basketball camps, check out the informational page here. These are just five excellent sports camps offered throughout Texas. This is not a complete list. If none of these camps will work for your family, ask your child’s coach or PE teacher for suggestions. Some local community centers offer day camps for a very low cost.
