Alec Baldwin won the 2011 SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on “30 Rock.” Alec Baldwin won his fifth consecutive award in the category, and has been nominated 14 times in different SAG categories (counting 2011). It has been a remarkable run for Baldwin, and one that continued with his work on the comedy again this year. He took his time up on stage to thank the actors, the teamsters, and of course his lead writer Tina Fey from the show.
It has simply been an amazing run by Baldwin in this category, and it is quite obvious that he has a lot of friends in the industry. “30 Rock” may not pull in the ratings of other shows like “Modern Family” and “Glee” that received nominations, but Baldwin clearly controls the screen every time he appears during an episode of his show. With very few new comedies on television this season, he could be looking at yet another win when the 2012 SAG Awards come around as well.
