It’s time to make my 2010 NFL week 14 predictions and picks. The first game on tap for the 2010 NFL week 14 schedule involves two struggling football teams. Indianapolis travels to Nashville to face the 5-7 Titans. The Colts aren’t doing much better these days with a 6-6 record. Who will win this Thursday night affair at LP Field?
It’s a good bet that the Colts will make it out with a win when it counts the most. Although I wouldn’t rule some home cookin’ in Nashville out either. In the end, I think the Colts win with a strong showing and a 27-14 victory over the Titans. And by the way, Peyton doesn’t add to his 11 picks in his past three games. Instead, Manning throws 3 touchdown passes in the victory.
The bulk of the 2010 NFL week 14 schedule takes place on Sunday as usual. Let’s start my predictions and picks for the early games.
Cleveland at Buffalo is an interesting game for many reasons. The Bills certainly could play the upset card against a rising Browns team–but I don’t think that’s going to happen. In fact, I think Cleveland guts out a very hard fought 23-21 win. Peyton Hillis with 2 touchdowns in the win and 100 plus yards.
Next up on the 2010 NFL Week 14 schedule is Green Bay at Detroit. The Lions have played tough at home but it hasn’t really earned Detroit many victories. I believe the Packers will roll to a 34-14 win on the road. Aaron Rodgers adds three more touchdowns to his impressive MVP type season.
My 2010 NFL Week 14 predictions and picks continue with the New York Giants in Minnesota. What an interesting game this could be? Brett Favre might or might not play–so that changes the dynamics of any predictions in a major way. Regardless of whether Favre plays, I believe the Giants win 27-14. Eli Manning has 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in the win.
Next up is Cincy at Pittsburgh. The Bengals nearly took out the Saints but I don’t believe this one will be even remotely close. Steelers win 31-13 thanks to several turnovers by the struggling Bengals.
Tampa Bay also plays at Washington during 2010 NFL week 14. Can the Redskins bounce back after a tough loss to New York? I think they can and will. The Redskins in the upset special of the week take the victory 23-13.
Donovan McNabb plays lights out in the second half of this one.
Atlanta travels to Carolina to play the Panthers. The Falcons have looked invincible of late. Matt Ryan passes for 250 yards and 3 scores and Atlanta wins 30-10.
Oakland picked up a surprising win over San Diego–now they’ll try to do the same at Jacksonville. The Jags have played well at home and that shouldn’t stop during the week 14 portion of the NFL schedule. Jacksonville wins 23-17 thanks to a touchdown pass from David Garrard to Mercedes Lewis in the fourth quarter.
Seattle travels to San Francisco for what could be an interesting match up. I believe the 49’ers will have enough to muster a 24-20 win. A few late turnovers hurt the Seahawks.
Next up on the 2010 NFL week 14 schedule, St. Louis is in New Orleans. The Rams have played very well with a talented young quarterback at the helm. But Sam Bradford struggles a bit on the road this week—and my 2010 NFL week 14 predictions and picks have the Saints in a comfortable 33-20 win. Drew Brees fires 3 touchdown passes.
Miami travels to New York to face the Jets. New York will use defense as usual to pull away from the Dolphins in the second half for a 22-13 victory. Braylon Edwards catches one big touchdown pass.
Denver is in Arizona during the 2010 NFL week 14 schedule. Can the Broncos rebound? It doesn’t seem likely on the road in Arizona–but I think it will happen this week for the Mile High ball club. Broncos win going away 26-19. Kyle Orton with another big stat day in an otherwise disappointing year for Denver.
New England is also in Chicago for one of the more interesting games on the schedule. Can the Patriots slow down suddenly hot Jay Cutler and the Bears? The bigger question is will Tom Brady be able to score on a tough Bears defense. I think Chicago wins by the narrowest of margins…24-23. Robbie Gould drills the game winning field goal in the fourth quarter.
Kansas City is in San Diego for an important playoff scenario game for the Chargers and Chiefs. The Chargers stumbled last week–but I don’t think that will be the case during the NFL week 14 schedule. My predictions and picks have San Diego rolling to a very convincing 34-21 win.
Philadelphia travels to suddenly red hot Dallas. The Cowboys are fresh off a win in Indianapolis–in fact they have won three of four since inheriting a new coach. Michael Vick meanwhile looks like the best quarterback in the NFL. What gives? I think the Cowboys have a tough time slowing down Vick and McCoy. Philadelphia just has way too many weapons on offense and the Eagles win 31-20. Dallas just doesn’t have the guns on offense to keep up with one of the best NFL offensive teams in recent memory.
The final game in the 2010 NFL week 14 schedule is on Monday night. Baltimore travels to Houston where Arian Foster has been running wild all season long. Can the Ravens defense slow one of the top NFL runners down? I think the answer during this week on national television is no. Foster rumbles in the spotlight for 2 touchdowns and 134 yards and the Texans win 28-23. Houston can be awfully tough at home.
That’s it for my 2010 NFL Week 14 predictions and picks. I’ll be back next week for the 2010 NFL week 14 version. Until then, have a great week and enjoy the NFL as the season winds down quickly!
