Jill and Thomas
Jill and Thomas gained an early lead, even though it was slight it put them ahead in the first hours of the race. They knew that Brook and Claire and Nat and Kat were close on their trail, so they were moving fast.
They fell behind Brook and Claire at Han Riverside Park.
Brook and Claire
Brook and Claire have some outfits with flair for their final legs of the race. The wore some bright running clothes and tube socks as they traveled from Hong Kong. Their outfits punctuated the carefree, fun attitudes they have maintained through most of the race.
Brook and Claire had a little tift when they had to decide which detour to do. Brook knew how to speed skate, Claire did not. Claire made it clear that she couldn’t skate. Brook said they could do the deliveries, but tensions were running high between the home shopping network hosts.
Furthermore, they took a cab, when the instructions said to take a cab or go on foot. This put them at risk for a penalty when they reached the Pit Stop.
Nat and Kat
Somehow Nat and Kat fell behind on their way to the Detour and hit the skating rink behind Jill and Thomas and Brook and Claire. Nonetheless, the plugged ahead in the race.
Nick and Vicki
Nick and Vicki finished last during the previous episode of ‘The Amazing Race 17.’ They did not complete either of the Detours during last week’s race. They went to the Pit Stop expecting to be eliminated from the race, but it was a non-elimination leg.
As a result, they started out this leg of the race with a penalty, a 6 hour delay and a Speed Bump that would present a challenge to complete in addition to the rest of the race. It didn’t look good from the start for Nick and Vick. They missed the flight the others were on to Seoul, Korea and didn’t get to leave Hong Kong until morning.
