Getting rid of the fleas from your home is not a challenge, but it does take a good amount of time and patience. Many times it can take weeks to totally get rid of all these little bugs. If you follow these steps, then your chances of getting rid of them that much better.
The best thing you can do right away is set off a flea bomb in the home. They will easily get rid of the majority of the infestation. You can find these flea bombs in any store. But before you set one off make sure you have many hours where you can take your pets/children out of the home.
Right away clean all surfaces in your home. Fleas and their eggs will most likely be found on any surface where your pets spend a lot of time. Clean with bleach and water, it will help cut down the amount of fleas in the home. You should also wash all your clothes in hot/warm water to kill any that may be attached to you.
After you come home, you can then steam clean and vacuum the floors. The hot water from the shampooer will kill any remaining flea eggs. Fleas cannot stand hot water, and the shampoo will for sure wipe them out.
There are many chemicals on the market that will easily prevent and kill fleas. Majority are safe and very effective. At all times remember to take your children and pets out of the home while the chemicals are working their magic.
As a last resort, if you cannot still get rid of the fleas, you need to call pest control right away. They have the proper equipment to take them out on the first try.
